Assassin's Creed: Victory - 10 Missing Unity Features That Must Return
10. Double Counter-Kills
Introduced in Brotherhood and perfected somewhat in AC III, double counters are pretty much exactly what they sound like - the ability to deftly finish off two attacking guards in a blur of hidden blades and gunfire. The way it worked in III was a little too easy on the hand-holding, making for fairly long animations playing out whenever you prodded the button at the right time, as oppose to in the previous entries where you had to make sure you had the right weapons equipped, before timing a button press and holding it to confirm the second kill. With separate slots for ranged and close-quarters weapons, Brotherhood let you do things like use your hidden blades on someone up-close, before lobbing a knife over their back and into someone else who was about to get the drop on you. In short it was fantastic, and through the sheer variety of weapons available made for a very tactile, satisfying feel to combat that was completely missing in Unity.
