Assassin’s Creed: Victory - 6 Details You Totally Missed From The Teaser

4. Defence Against Blades

See those silver strips adorning that sleeve? They're born out of a feudal Japanese ninja design meant to allow the wearer to block blades even when they're unarmed. Obviously this interpretation could be wrong as it's such an early stage, but the series has hinted at eventually going into a more eastern locale as earlier as the hidden messages of the first game, and this trans-cultural adoption of such an ancient design would be a perfect fit for AC's character designs. Usually there'd be small iron rods sewn into the sleeves of real-world ninjas so as to maintain mobility, and although these are on the outside it's most likely to show the character has more of a combat-ready attitude towards his battles. Naturally there's going to be more melee encounters in Victory like every other AC, but this could be a hint that unarmed hidden bladed-combat is making a return, as it was sorely missing in Unity.
