Batman: Arkham - 10 Rumours About The Future Of Rocksteady You Need To Know

After Arkham Knight, rumors started swirling that not Rocksteady, but WB Games Montreal would be working on not one, but two DC games. A persistent rumor says that the developer is thinking of releasing a game set between Arkham Origins and Arkham Asylum.

Origins is widely considered to be the redheaded stepchild of the Arkham series. It's the only game Rocksteady wasn't involved with, it largely relied on the same mechanics and map as Arkham City, and it was pretty buggy. On the other hand though, Origins had hands-down the best boss fights in the entire series (just compare the awesome Deathstroke battle in Origins against the pathetic Deathstroke-in-a-tank battle in Knight).

Taking Batman back to his roots could be fun, especially if WB looks at adapting a classic story set in Batman's early years. The Long Halloween has been referenced in the Arkham series a few times, so it would be a real hoot to see an adaptation of that. The Dark Knight's detective skills have been pretty superficial in the games up to this point, and adapting Long Halloween could be the perfect way to emphasise those.

This would also give WB Games Montreal an opportunity to redeem themselves after the mixed reception of Origins and prove that they have what it takes to do the DC Universe justice.
