Ra's al Ghul is one of the most powerful villains in the DC universe, serving as the chief antagonist of Batman: Arkham City. However, what some players might not have realised is that the enigmatic leader of the League of Assassins was shown much earlier than his voiced appearance in Arkham City.

It's well known that Rocksteady had half an eye on Arkham City as they were finishing Batman: Arkham Asylum, including a secret room that contained plans for Arkham City in Wardern Sharp's office. While perhaps not intended as a set-up for the next game, a brief cameo appearance from Ra's in Arkham Asylum ties them both together nicely.

Once Batman enters the morgue in Batman: Arkham Asylum he can see a body lying in one of the vaults with a toe tag that says 'Ra's al Ghul'. But, if players subsequently return to that same spot later in the game, the body will be gone.

No explanation is given for this, however, it's safe to assume that Ra's' band of loyal assassins must have taken the body and revived it in the Lazarus Pit in between the two games, bringing him back to life.
