8. It Will Be Like The Other Arkham Games
Arkham Asylum and Arkham City established a particular gameplay style that was well received by fans. A blend of combo-based fighting, stealthy "Predator" sections, interesting detective sequences and challenging collectibles to find made the series stand out from other games and helped make them the best superhero games of recent years. With the prequel, all of that could change. Rocksteady could decide that a stylised prequel is the perfect opportunity to mix up the formula. The combat mechanics could change, Batmans gadgets could be limited, and his detective vision could be scrapped completely (perhaps not invented by him yet). Everything we loved about Asylum and City could change. With a direct sequel, Warner Bros. arent going to take any chances. They know what fans loved about the first two games so they will want to keep it the same. We all complain about games like Call of Duty that show no innovation or change of formula at all, but sometimes its best to keep things the way they are. You wouldnt want Dead Space or Gears of War becoming first person shooters, so theres no reason to change anything about the gameplay of the Arkham series, especially as it is still so good.
