Batman: Arkham Insurgency - 10 Things It Must Learn From Knight
3. Do More With The Bat-Family
The Bruce Wayne of the Arkham trilogy tends to walk a fine line between being the sole protector of Gotham, and occasionally admitting he does need the help of Robin, Oracle and Nightwing. In Arkham City, he's all but completely dismissive of Robin helping out, remains relatively arrogant in the face of Alfred and Oracle offering advice, and even in Arkham Knight, we only get to feel the 'combined effort' of the Dynamic Duo in a handful of missions.
In the Matter of Family DLC, we got to see Batgirl working alongside Robin to fell Joker's schemes, introducing a solid dynamic that allows the stakes to be raised, before hammering home the notion that our heroes only succeed some scenarios by working as a team. In fact, in Arkham City, Batman will literally die unless you choose to let Catwoman save him - it's that spelled out, yet never capitalised on.
Again, if Insurgency's leaked prequel status hints at Batman and Robin working together for the first time, we might see a refined portrayal of Bruce that's less solo-minded, teaming up with Robin for a variety of encounters and extended missions along the way.
