Batman: Arkham Insurgency - 11 Things It Must Learn From Asylum

9. Only Use The 'All In One Night' Setup If It Makes Sense

A strange contrivance that even as you watched the relatively small amount of events take place in Arkham Asylum, felt like a bit of a reach. In the following open-world sequels it became downright farcical just how much Bruce could get done in one night, especially considering the amount of Most Wanted criminals you could round up as well as the main mission thread.

For Insurgency, we need a story that realistically takes place across however many days feel necessary. It's very rare that a Batman arc in the comics happens within 12 hours - say 8 til' 8 at a push - so why not discard this 'all in one night' framework? At the very least, write a concise, believable tale that makes contextual sense being packed into a single, frantic evening.

My assumption is Rocksteady liked the idea of Batman cleaning up the streets or minimising the damage while Gotham sleeps, but that just literally doesn't hold up when the games themselves can be 30, 40+ hours long.
