Batman: Arkham Insurgency - 9 Things It Must Learn From City

8. Keep The Combat Simple

Batman: Arkham City
Rocksteady

Although it started off refreshingly simple, by the time Arkham Knight rolled around the franchise's combat system had bloated into a needlessly complex set of mechanics that all threatened to fall apart under the weight of each other.

But it didn't have to spiral as out of control as it did, as City's core brawling added just enough new to keep it feeling fresh and deep without overloading the player with options they'd never use.

Each new ability the game added served a purpose, and every one felt essential in making players the best crime fighters they could possibly be.

Moving forward, the developers of Arkham Insurgency need to go back to the roots of the combat system and remember what made it so revolutionary in the first place: its simplicity.
