Batman: Arkham Knight - 10 Awesome Villains Who'll Steal The Show
8. The Riddler
Another confirmed return for Arkham Knight is The Riddler - a character who has played a role in every Arkham game to date, mainly by planting puzzles and riddles all across the games for Batman to discover and solve. These trophies and riddles act as collectibles within the Arkham series, giving the player a reason to explore and track down secrets. Solving the riddles (scanning an item or a person in a specific room, as dictated by a clue) is particularly rewarding for fans as they offer neat references to characters within the Batman universe who won't necessarily make an on-screen appearance. Arkham City expanded on this idea by introducing Challenge Rooms, challenging Batman to complete a series of puzzles before rescuing hostages. Having failed to outwit Batman so far, the Riddler's desperation could see these Challenge Rooms return with a vengeance, creating tough but rewarding sections for the player and Batman. Alternatively, the Riddler's crazed need to defeat Batman might inspire him to create a massive riddle - something which might put the whole of Gotham City in serious jeopardy; as an example, a recent comic storyline - entitled Zero Year - embraced this idea and saw Gotham turn into a savage ruin under the Riddler's control. Despite being defeated and captured twice, the Riddler continues to torture and taunt Batman - it's going to be oh-so-satisfying to finally put this madman away for good.
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
