Batman: Arkham Knight - 10 Huge Details In The New Trailer You Totally Missed
6. Dr. Phosphorus And Other Easter Eggs
Like all of Rocksteady's Batman releases, this trailer was littered with little Easter Eggs, and it looks as though Knight will feature the most yet. In the frame where Gordon is stood atop of the GCPD, a building to the right in the distance features a sign saying 'Sartoricu', with a flame atop the 'I'. Avid Bat-fans will know that a Dr. Alexander Sartorius became the villain, 'Dr. Phosphorus,' and despite the odd amendment to his name this is almost certainly a direct reference to the character. This doesn't necessarily mean Phosphorus will feature however, but it's nice to know he exists in Rocksteady's little slice of Batman. The trailer also has a direct reference to the 'Royal Flush' gang, a group of crooks any fan of Batman or Batman Beyond should be aware of. Again, it's far from confirmation that they have a presence in Knight, but their addition to the canon just makes the Arkhamverse even more epic in scale - as does the following nod to the wider DCU: The 'Ferris Mall' once again crops up in a trailer for Knight, reinforcing the fact that Hal Jordan's flame has a presence in the Arkhamverse. Fans should also know that there were multiple Ferris references in Arkham Origins, so the building of a succinct continuity for WBGM to follow is great to see.
