Batman: Arkham Knight - 10 Things Fans Demand

5. Awesome Scarecrow Levels

A rather divisive design for any game level really, the old 'you're in a dream' scenario, as it essentially lets the developers go hog-wild with their environments, sound design and everything in between - either immediately pulling off the wow-factor like Asylum's initial fear toxin levels, or ending up as one of the most annoying in the series with City's Ra's al Ghul flight-school. Obviously with both the creative team and voice actors mentioning Arkham Knight is a more psychological experience with Scarecrow and chums electing to question everything Batman thinks he knows about himself, chances are you're going to be pulled into these overblown dreamscapes every half hour or so. Hopefully Rocksteady will double-down on the scenarios that look into Bruce's childhood, the formation of the Batman ethos in its earliest stages, and what it means for him to be a leader to the newly-formed Bat family including Robin, Jason Todd and Nightwing. It's easy to forget that in the Arkham mythos we've not delved into Bats' backstory like Nolan expertly did in Batman Begins, so it allows Rocksteady to provide their own take on Bruce's motivations outside the immediacy of his parents' death.
