2. What Was Azrael Talking About?

Remember this chap watching you from afar in Arkham City? When approached, he'd spout cryptic nonsense about Gotham burning and prophecies and all that before vanishing off into the night. Nothing came of this in Arkham City, leading many to believe that Azrael would have a bigger part to play in Arkham Knight. It could even be possible that this guy is the Arkham Knight! In Arkham City, Azreal said:

I bring a message: dark days are coming, Batman. The Prophecy is coming true, you are the warrior who will close the gates of Hell, you are the one who will save this day, and in doing so, events will occur that you cannot stop, from the ashes of Arkham the fires will rage and Gotham will burn, and you, you will burn too.

Ominous words for sure, but they seem to tie into the narrative of Arkham Knight, which sees Scarecrow and a cast of supervillains plundering and burning the city and giving Batman one of his hardest challenges to date. No matter what, Azrael should show up at some point.
