Batman Arkham Knight: 12 Big Questions Rocksteady Need To Answer
11. Is the Batmobile As Awesome As It Looks?
Part of being Batman is, naturally, owning awesome vehicular transport. In the past we've been deprived of driving Batman's most famous gadget and only dabbled with fast travel via the Batwing, but this new entry in the Arkhamverse will put Batman behind the wheel of his insanely uber-awesome Batmobile for the first time, giving players an all-new way to explore Gotham. The question is: will doing so actually be good, and will it add anything to the experience? We should all have a lot of faith in Rocksteady as a game developer after the first two Batman games wowed us, and this take on the Batmobile should easily feel as awesome as gliding around the city with the grapple booster did in Arkham City. What's important to note here is that Rocksteady is not designing the Batmobile as an afterthought; the car can be summoned by Batman at any time, he can eject out of the seat and glide around the city, and it'll come with its own gadgets, abilities and be used in Riddler challenges specifically designed to take part of the Batmobile's unique abilities. It's also hard not to ponder whether or not the Batmobile will be upgradable like Batman is; given the series' traditional progression approach, it's not hard to imagine additions to the Batmobile over the story being a must.
