Batman Arkham Knight: 12 Big Questions Rocksteady Need To Answer
7. Does Anyone Live in Gotham?
Alright yeah, Arkham Origins was set at Christmas when everybody will be tucked up around a fire roasting chestnuts and all that, but Gotham City felt so empty. Populated only by Batman, a few villains and Batman's allies with a sprinkle of Christmassy random thugs thrown in for good measure, Arkham Origins' streets felt lifeless and almost as if Gotham was a deserted ghost-town. In Arkham Knight, we already know that the Gotham we'll be exploring will be larger than any we've been in so far. But will it actually have people in it? From a gameplay perspective, it may be difficult to put people in Arkham Knight on the streets, particularly if you give the players the ability to drive a massive Batmobile wherever they want that could quite easily squash a bystander. Batman doesn't kill, so it simply wouldn't make sense to let everyone pull a GTA and mow down innocents. Judging from the first trailer, many people have already fled Gotham after a threat from Scarecrow, but will anyone be left behind?
