Batman Arkham Knight: 13 Ultimate Wishlist Features That Need To Happen

12. Kevin Conroy Must Return As The Voice

It really should go without saying, but we will say it again anyway: Kevin Conroy is the voice of Batman. For years he has portrayed The Dark Knight across television and animated films, from the ground breaking Batman: The Animated Series, through the multiple DC Animated DVDs and various television series, and finally into the video game foray with Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and the more recent and utterly fantastic fighting game, Injustice. But for the 3rd instalment of the Arkham video game series that released last year, Conroy was notably absent from his iconic voice role as Batman. Arkham Origins was a beginner's tale for the Arkham-era Batman as it relates to the overall Arkham story line; it was look back at the early days of Batman's presence in Gotham City, telling a story of a younger Bruce Wayne, an earlier Batman, and a Gotham not readily familiar with this new Batman legend. It made sense with the Arkham Origins game to go with a different voice, a newer voice, as Batman was younger and inexperienced; a time when Gotham had yet to fully embrace the Batman mythos. In a sense, one could argue that this was the right move; a new game studio that had been created just to make a non-Rocksteady Batman game could also go with some new voice actors, giving a newer, fresher feel to the Arkham world. But now that we have the final game upon us, it makes perfect sense to bring Kevin Conroy back for the big finish: his return fits into the overall Arkham narrative, and it's also a nice farewell to the Arkham gaming franchise.
