1. And Easily The Best Of The Series... Not To Mention A Serious Contender For Game Of The Year
"Batman: Arkham Knight is not only the best Batman game ever made, but a game that will be remembered as exemplary." - Simon Miller, VideoGamer.com "Batman: Arkham Knight is a narrative juggernaut crammed to capacity with excellent heroes, villains, battles, drama, humor, fan service, and the mother of all plot twists (you wont see this one coming, folks)." - Andrew Reiner, GameInformer.com "Batman: Arkham Knight is a Batman experience no self-respecting fan should miss, and if Batmans not your thing, then make it your thing. You wont regret it. Trust me." - Steve Farrelly, AusGamers.com
Cast your mind back to 2009 for a moment - the fairly unknown Rocksteady Studios had just unveiled Batman: Arkham Asylum to a ravenous public. Early previews certainly looked promising, but many still regarded the project with a mixture of cautious optimism and resigned cynicism. After all, when was the last time anybody was able to make a good Batman game? But as the reviews trickled in little by little, everybody's fears were put to rest as not only did Rocksteady craft one hell of a comic book game - they also created one of the greatest games in the history of the medium. By the time the sequel rolled around, hype was at an all-time high and once again Rocksteady delivered. And now - proving that you can indeed catch lightning in a bottle three times - history is repeating itself as not only are an overwhelming majority of the reviews lauding the third chapter in the Arkham series as the absolute perfect conclusion to a legendary run, but some have already tagged it with those all-powerful words: "game of the year". It's a bold claim, but if the early reactions are anything to go by, it may well prove prophetic.
