7 and 6. New Villains and More Side-Missions
Riddler trophies arent making a return in Arkham Origins, having been replaced by an increased number of side-missions. This makes sense in terms of continuity, as Riddler wont have yet become obsessed with Batman and, if we think back to his first mention in Arkham Asylum, it would be safe to assume that he only started leaving mocking trophies around much later in his career. Anyway, while the trophies will be sorely missed, it does give Geoff Johns an opportunity to include a higher number of villains, such as the already confirmed Anarky. The side-missions in Arkham City were very hit-and-miss, but Origins is set to take the feature in a much more interesting direction. Anarkys missions revolve around Batman finding and disarming bombs around the city before they go off, a fitting crime considering his motif, so we can expect some interesting explorations of minor rogues through this side-mission feature, as Gotham is ripe with villainy and Johns will likely want to include many of the more obscure bad-guys (heres expecting The Ventriloquist). Whether any of the games main antagonists will be new to the series isnt clear, though Black Masks prominence in the game will help create a sense of fresh meat given he only had a cameo in the previous title. However, expect most of the new bad-guys to be found in the side-missions rather than the main story, as there arent many major antagonists left who didnt have a big part in Asylum or City. Unless Johns decided to pull from the rogues gallery of other heroes, of course...
