4. Challenge Maps Return
A recent pre-order offer has revealed challenge maps will be making a return to the series, along with the news announcement Deathstroke will be a playable character in said maps. This is great news for players of the previous two games as the challenge maps were considered to be intensely enjoyable, providing hours of additional game-time on top of the main story mode. In City the challenges tested player skills, reflexes, strategic thinking, and patience, providing a more challenging experience for hardcore players who wanted something extra from the game. While Predator, Combat, and Campaign challenges were available in Arkham City, its currently unclear whether Origins will just take these same three variations or try to create something new, possibly using the detective mode concept to create maps that challenge players inquisition skills. It is likely the Riddler will no longer be the overseer of the challenges, and with the Joker setting them up in Asylum hes probably out of the question too. Although we dont currently know which villain will take their mantle, our money is on either Ras al Ghul, whod want to set up the challenges to make Batman prove his worth, or Black Mask, whod just want Batman dead.
