Batman Arkham Origins: 5 Reasons It's Going To Be Awesome

2. Explore Gotham

As great as the last two games were, there was always that feeling of wanting to go bigger. Every time we stared at the beautiful Gotham skyline in Arkham Asylum or got shot at trying to go over the walls of Arkham City, we were just craving to go patrol the streets of Gotham. Well, now we get that chance. From what I've read about the size of the game, it is apparently set to be three times bigger than Arkham City. Yeah...three times bigger! Just let that sink in for a moment. I mean, it's not like City was small, was it? That's a whole lot of brooding, patrolling and ass kicking we get to do in Origins. I for one cannot wait to stand on top of Gotham's huge skyscrapers, looking down over my city. As if that wasn't enough to get you salivating over the awesomeness of Origins, it has also been reported that the Batcave will feature in the game. You will be able to head back to the cave to change your costume, upgrade your gadgets and also look over all your detective findings in pure Batman style. One element I heard a lot of people were missing about previous games was the lack of vehicles. Well, don't worry, because the Batwing is set to feature in this game. However, don't get too excited because you wont be actually able to fly it yourself. It will be used as a fast transportation system to skip to different parts of the Origins landscape. This really sounds like a great idea to have in the game if you ever get tired of gliding across the heights of Gotham overlooking your prey. Unlikely, I know, but it's great to have the option, right? I for one am also glad they resisted the option to have the Batwing or even the Batmobile as drivable vehicles in the game. For me, it would make the game into something it's not supposed to be. The game is about focusing on Batman himself, not testing your driving or piloting skills. If they can somehow manage to include this in a later game and make it work, then I'm as much on board as the next person. For now, though, I am happy with the frankly awesome means of being able to travel around the city.
