Batman: Arkham - Ranking The 10 Greatest Villains So Far

1. The Joker

No surprise here. He is the Clown Prince of Crime, The Ace of Knaves, The Harlequin of Hate. He has been the biggest bad from the beginning and nobody else deserves to be a the top of this list. It must be noted that a big part of what makes Joker so great in the Arkham games is the masterful use of voice performance. Mark Hamill, who developed the quintessential Joker voice in Batman: The Animated Series, came back for Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. Troy Baker, who replace Hamill for Origins, did an impressive job aping the Hamill version of Joker too. From the opening scenes in Asylum, The Joker hooks the player and doesn't let go. Equal parts evil and hilarious, the Arkham Joker is argued, by many, to be one of the best versions of the character in history. It certainly doesn't hurt that legendary Batman writer Paul Dini provided the story either. Arkham City is definitely the defining moment in all of Joker's litany of video game appearances. The roller-coaster he puts the Dark Knight through as he poisons Batman, sends him racing for a cure, appears to be healed by said cure, and (spoilers) reveals that Clayface was pretending to be Joker all along...just perfection. The icing on the cake is Hamill singing "Only You" as the credits roll... Who's your favourite villain in all the Arkham games? Let us know in the comments!
