Battlefield 1: 10 Problems From The Beta That Must Be Fixed

5. Class Progression Needs To Actually Work

Now this is something that didn't affect everyone in the beta; some players were virtually unable to level up their classes no matter what they tried. Levelling up your basic rank was never a problem, but class ranks just didn't work. And it became even more of a nuisance when class rank determined if you could buy new guns, equipment or melee weapons. A workaround was eventually found where you'd have to switch servers after every single game to level up, but even that didn't work for everyone.

I was personally one of the many affected by this, and it's one of my biggest gripes with the beta. No matter how many games I played on the Scout class, the Medic class or Assault class, I couldn't level any of them up. Even as I was a level 20 or more, I was unable to try out the shotguns because I simply was unable to unlock them.

This is obviously a huge gameplay mechanic of the multiplayer and it has to be fixed come time for us to play the game again. Thankfully, DICE has acknowledged this problem, so chances are we won't have to worry about the inability to level up, come launch time. Fingers crossed.
