Battlefield 6: 10 Fatal Mistakes DICE Must Avoid
1. Battle Royale
No. Stop it. Don't even think about it.
No one thought this was a good idea. Not even the most ardent Battlefield fans thought this was a good idea.
Battlefield 6 does not need a battle royale mode, just like Battlefield V didn't need a battle royale mode.
It was obvious in its pandering. An almost cynical attempt by DICE and EA to jump on a bandwagon that had already exceeded its maximum occupancy limit. Battlefield V's Firestorm proved that bigger does not always mean better.
The mode, with a map that was apparently ten times larger than the game's biggest map, was beset by problems from the outset. Along with the aforementioned TTK problem, (in which players could empty an entire clip of ammo into an enemy without success) there was also a loot management problem when opening the game's various chests, as well as various balancing issues that affected the mode's weaponry.
Consequently, Firestorm was promptly forgotten by most Battlefield V players after its launch. Hopefully DICE takes the hint and promptly "forgets" to put it in Battlefield 6. Sometimes, less is more.
