Battlefield 6: 10 Fatal Mistakes DICE Must Avoid

9. Rented Servers

Rented servers - aka the bane of existence for any player that just wants to play a few quick matches on the weekend.

Now, democratically speaking, anyone with a credit card and working thumbs can sign up to rent a server, but somehow, the universe seems to dictate that if you own a battlefield server you're a tyrannical maniac with an authoritarian God complex.

Bizarre rules, random bans, and badly spelled loading screens (anyone remember N0 SH0ttgUNns?) were the way of life for many a player server, and towards the end of an entry's lifespan it becomes downright impossible to play a match owned by a normal person.

Still, despite the profits it might make from those willing to sell their soul for a modicum of moderator power, the time's come to lay this policy to rest. Battlefield 6 has a lot of ground to make up if it wants to be a serious competitor, and selling servers would be a few steps in the wrong direction.
