Before GTA V: 10 Biggest 'WTF' Moments From GTA History

6. Three Leaf Clover (GTA IV)

In many ways, GTA IV was much more restrained than the games that came before it, much I don€™t want to say tamer, but slightly lighter in cartoonized violence by comparison. But then again, in other ways it was as brutal and WTF inducing as any other. Here€™s one such moment from the fourth game in the main franchise.

After first getting involved with the McReary brothers and slowly earning their collective trust over a slew of missions, Niko is fully drafted onto the team just in time to commit perhaps one of the most insanely thrilling and cinematic heists in the entire GTA series so far.

The mission in itself is one huge 'WTF' moment; you swarm the bank garbed in balaclavas, civilians decide to play hero, one of your number is shot and killed. It's total pandemonium. Then, after clearing $1m from the bank's vaults, you're forced to mow down a good chunk of the entire LCPD before finding your vehicle and escaping to freedom with the cash in tow. It's a scene straight out of Michael Mann's Heat and believe me, if you haven't played it, it's awesome.

You'll be screaming 'WTF' at your screen more than once as you play through Three Leaf Clover; at the tension, at the action, at the sheer, filmic drama. A stellar moment from probably the most underrated title of the lot. Check out the mission, played in full, above.
