Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony (2009 & 2010 various platforms)
The second expansion pack for Grand Theft Auto IV was awarded the title of best Downloadable Content at the
2009 Spike Video Game Awards. The game starred Luis Fernando Lopez who was the assistant to nightclub event organiser Anthony Prince. The game featured new weapons, vehicles and new game mechanics. There was a mission in this game that involved all three main characters from the three games. Furthermore, Niko Bellic (GTA IV) and Johnny Klebitz (Lost and The Damned) made appearances in the games first cut scene. Aside from the main storyline, The Ballad of Gay Tony featuref a selection of dance and drinking mini games.
Grand Theft Auto V (2013 various platforms)
The latest installment in the Grand Theft Auto series is scheduled for release on 17 September and will be the first game in the franchise to follow the stories of three characters. The plot of the game has been advertised as the pursuit of the almighty dollar and focuses on three brand new characters Michael a former bank robber who has returned to the criminal life style, Trevor (Michaels best friend), a known psychopath, and Franklin who is the youngest of the three characters. GTA V will feature the majority of game mechanics from all Grand Theft Auto games. Some of the newest features include the ability to switch between the three playable characters, the ability to play sports such as tennis, calling people and using the internet with your mobile phone. In its relatively short history, the Grand Theft Auto series has changed the way people have viewed video games and further enhanced the way games have been developed. With GTA V close to release, there are signs that the series is going from strength to strength and the quality of the series will increase with each new release. We thought CoD Modern Warfare 3 and The Last of Us were good I dont think weve seen anything yet until GTA V is released
