Biomutant: 7 Incredible Features That Will Blow You Away

5. Granular Character Creator Directly Affects Gameplay

Whereas a lot of video games promise that "your character will be completely unique" and then offer you, at best, three or four choices which sometimes feel AWFULLY similar, Biomutant looks you dead in the eye and says "You wanna get weird? Let's get weird".

Firstly, you can select what main character career path you'd like to go down, ranging from mad spellcaster to dual-wielding swordsman, to full-on bandanna sporting commando, each of which will give you specific perks and an initial loadout.

Yet, this is just the tip of the Bio-berg my friend, as now you get to fully control what skills and stats you'd like; the manipulation of which affects your very skeletal structure.

Pouring points into intelligence swells the brain, wanting to become stronger and more agile lengthens the limbs, and loads up the mass. It's hilarious and horrifying to see your creation come to life, although some definitely look like they should be put down come the end of things.

Still, no time to worry about how they fit a shirt over that giant melon head, as it's time to decal the fur. Which, as you'd expect in a game with mutation at the core, swings from muted blacks and browns all the way to fluorescent eye-burners.

Then to top it all off you get to pick a certain elemental resistance, which might not seem like much at first, but this one table may indeed be the most essential.

There are many beasties out in the world that love throwing Earth, Wind and Fire's greatest hits album at you, so take a moment and ponder which horrors you'd like to be less horrible once you venture out.

Jules Gill hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
