Bioshock: All Games & Story DLC RANKED
3. Bioshock 2: Minerva’s Den
It's rare for somethings DLC to be better than the game itself, in fact, Bioshock 2: Minerva’s Den is the only example that I can think of off the top of my head.
Unlike the Burial At Sea episodes, Minerva's Den is mostly unrelated to the plot of its base game. You play as Subject Sigma because apparently Rapture just has tons of prototype Big Daddys laying around as you explore the titular Minerva's Den. You're doing this to help a man named Porter retrieve the information needed for him to recreate a machine called The Thinker, something that he initially built.
This DLC tells a compelling story, has a fun new location to explore, and retains the great gameplay from Bioshock 2. What's not to love?
Talking about locations, Minerva's Den is an interesting one. The place is slightly more high tech than the rest of Rapture giving it a unique personality, yet the area still fits in perfectly with the aesthetic of the underwater city.
Finally, that ending is enough to make anyone cry. That or maybe I'm just sensitive. Who knows?
