1. It Has Saved The Genre
Just like when BioShock came along in 2007 and helped breathe life into the stagnating FPS genre, BioShock Infinite has essentially done the same. Even with great-looking titles like Crysis 3 abounding recently, the genre still struggles to innovate and find titles that delineate it, but Infinite is one such game; every aspect of its construction is both extremely original and fantastically executed, from the story, to the gameplay, to the characters, visuals and immaculate sound design. It's early in the year yet, of course, and we still have the likes of GTA V, Battlefield 4, Beyond: Two Souls, countless next-gen titles, and Watch Dogs (hopefully) to come, but BioShock Infinite has set a high standard for the remaining 9 months, one that the vast majority of games will be unable to compete with. Simply, if Infinite remains Game of the Year, it shouldn't be much of a surprise at all. Excited for Infinite? Let us know what you're looking forward to in the comments below.
