3. DLC Plans/Ambition
News Break: Bioshock Infinite may include DLC when it arrives next February, and whether it is for the sp or the mp, DLC takes time to develop and be approved by the big 3. I believe that this would fall more in the lines of mp DLC (more maps, character load outs.... maybe Plasmid options). Also the game is ambitious: from the media that we have seen so far, everything about the game is going to be big. From the time rift system - where Elizabeth can open portal to other dimensions/time periods... maybe a quick trip to rapture somewhere in the game? - to the enemies (See Heavy Hitters developer diaries) to the story (the game is said to be 15+ hours long) and will have the much talked about 1999 mode where your decisions impact the game in a much more substantial way. There are a lot of things that Irrational might just be polishing so they can deliver to us a truly breath taking experience. And here's hoping they succeed. So there you have it, three reasons why we believe Bioshock Infinite was delayed. While the game was first shown in August of 2010 we know all good things take time to develop (throw in cliche Rome wasn't built in a day line here). It is sad to see one of our most anticipated games of 2012 slip into an early 2013 window, but we are confident that Ken Levine and the fine folks at Irrational are making sure the game lives up to every bodies expectations. Besides, there are a ton of games coming out this year to tide us over. WhatCulture cannot wait to take to the sky when Bioshock Infinite releases February 26th, 2013.
