Bioshock Infinite: 8 Reasons Why It's Incredible

6. Story

Ahh, the reason many of you will have come to visit Columbia in the first place. Many say that Bioshock really shook up the market when it was first released by merging a strong FPS with an incredibly strong narrative. I actually think that in both games cases, the story of the setting is more compelling than large parts of the actual narrative, but I digress. All you need to know is that Bioshock Infinite's story for the most part,is a joy. Much like the first game, it is broken into sections of the city, each exploring different themes within the narrative. The first section being about the wonder and terms of Columbia. Another part being about Booker's past, another about the ability and consequences of "tearing" between realities mixed with a story of worker revolution. The narrative shifts frequently, with focus changes constantly. Some parts of the narrative do lead to less interesting ideas, and it can begin to feel like a series of fetch quests in certain parts, but the game does not linger. It will change before too long so it shouldn't break your experience. For when the game is telling its strongest story, it is pretty great.
