7. Presentation
Like most, I wasn't blown away by the visuals demonstrated in Black Ops 2's marketing campaign, yet given how garish the textures looked in Modern Warfare 3, it's a joy to report that the abundance of bright colours and flashy visuals are a welcome addition for the latest CoD. Granted, it's never going to stand up to the likes of Battlefield 3 and Medal of Honour: Warfighter, but within the visual scope of the series, it is unquestionably the best looking and most visually inventive title yet. One of the big appeals of the CoD games is maintaining that crisp, velvety 60FPS, all the more impressive given that this is easily the busiest CoD game yet, particularly when you take it online, and slow-down so far has been a rarity, much to our surprise. Get up close to textures and some of them are still disappointingly low-res, but the overall artistic style is much more accomplished than previous games.
