The ninth mission sees you attacking the "Sand Castle", a gigantic fortified platform, beginning with an all-out air assault, giving the player an opportunity to fly around and blow s*** up. Sadly, though, the dogfight sequence is completely on-rails, so you're steered every step of the way and only need to shoot, which makes it overall pretty uninspired and thoroughly disappointing. Sure, you get to deliver some more controlled fire on the platform itself later, but it's still very low-effort stuff.

Because who doesn't love a little random, gratuitous violence? As you're attempting to escape the platform before it's blown to smithereens, you can see a soldier waving you through up ahead, but before you reach him, he's crushed to death in somewhat hilarious fashion by a falling cooling fan of some kind. Call of Duty needs more moments like this, even if they show no regard for the value of human life at all...
