We're three games deep in this series already; it has firmly established its angle and offer, meaning everything hereon is just pushing the envelope further and further. The last thing From Software needs to do is be predictable, to release what is effectively the same game with a larger number stapled to the end. Players want plenty from Bloodborne; if you haven't noticed, we just covered that. But games are at their best when they do the unexpected, when they turn once tired ideas on their heads or build a new style of their very own. If nothing else, Bloodborne needs to do that, to stand out and hold its own, not lean on the pedigree of its name. Let's not have Souls go the way of Final Fantasy, eh?
