Bloodborne: 5 Reasons For Dark Souls Fans To Be Ecstatic

4. The World - 'Amazing View's Aplenty

The Souls games' iconic dark fantasy setting has proven to be a triumph of design, with its blend of both Japanese and European medieval aesthetics. If we're totally honest, we wouldn't be completely against playing through yet another action-RPG with the exact same style of setting. In a departure from the Souls games though, Bloodborne looks to be set in an industrial, gothic world. With aesthetic cues taken from steampunk and Victorian London, From Software's upcoming title looks set to be another unique marriage of perfectly complementing styles. Plus, it's always nice to have a shiny new world in which to die over and over again to hordes of terrifying monsters. Dark Souls II played around with the contrast between light and dark far more than its predecessors, and it seems like Bloodborne is set to take this visual theme even further. The city featured in the game is a familiarly gloomy place, and the torchlight flickering against the stone walls looks deliciously in-keeping with what we've come to expect from the art team at From Software. No one can deny that Bloodborne is shaping up to be a fine-looking game, and we can't wait to explore whatever sadistic environments have been conjured up this time.
