2. Supporting A Developer That Cares
Duke Nukem: Forever purchasers you might not agree with me on this one but lets continue anyways. Gearbox is doing something incredibly awesome with Borderlands 2 by supporting the game post-launch better than most in the industry. With the mysterious golden keys, which can be acquired through the Gearbox Shift program, players are able to unlock the golden loot case in the town of Sanctuary. Each time you use the key you get the opportunity at extremely rare loot that generates based on your current level. Those that follow the game closely have almost already exploited the golden keys as much as possible, and it's great to see a developer staying connected to a game post-launch. Hopefully, Gearbox's upcoming Aliens: Colonial Marines will get the same support. For now, Borderlands 2 will have to suffice.
