Borderlands has always been built around its vast arsenal. The entire selling point of the original game was that it was home to a "bazillion" guns. That wasn't technically true, but the amount of weapons certainly was overwhelming. Though loot systems had been present in RPG releases for years, Gearbox was one of the first developers to shove that into a proper first-person shooter, and it paid off in dividends.

For Borderlands 3, Gearbox are once again going all in on the amount of weapons players will have at their disposal. This time they're not throwing in a nonsense word either, but actually numbering how many guns will be present: 1 billion.

Even better, they're not just going to be basic palette swaps with better stats. From the tidbits teased, Borderlands 3 isn't only going to be home to elemental guns and regular firearms, but guns that can walk and fire volacanos.
