Borderlands 3 Wishlist: 10 Things That Must Happen

1. The Gang

There's an uncanny sense of camaraderie in Borderlands 2. Case and point: The return of Lilith, Roland, Mordecai, and Brick was a welcomed surprise and engendered a sense of cooperation that the game's threadbare story couldn't even grasp. A game letting players explore a story themselves rather than drowning them in cutscenes - who would have thought? Letting the new generation of Hunters interact with their predecessors as characters, rather than objects of exposition, worked wonders for the lore and presence of the game, all while granting player's agency - or at least the illusion of agency, which is still something - in the storyline. The inclusion of voice work for the next motley crew of treasure hunters would only improve things further and lend the series a more memorable personality. Granted, it's already tough to forget blowing the limbs off a mace-touting maniac with a purple sniper rifle that shoots lasers, but there's never been a game that wouldn't benefit from proper, if subtle, narrative. What do you want to see in Borderlands 3? Do you want the game to be made at all? Let us know in the comments!

A freelance games writer, you say? Typically battling his current RPG addiction and ceaseless perfectionism? A fan of horror but too big a sissy to play for more than a couple of hours? Spends far too much time on JRPGs and gets way too angry with card games? Well that doesn't sound anything like me.
