Breath Of The Wild 2: 5 Things We Want (And 5 We Don’t)
The first "sequel Zelda" in years, Nintendo NEED to get this right.
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is about as close a video game can get to being perfect.
This Nintendo Switch launch title absolutely carried the new gaming system in its infancy and managed to reignite many Zelda fans' passion for the series whilst completely reinventing it.
While the beloved Zelda formula was still fun to play, it was getting to a point where every title was becoming paint-by-numbers, so Nintendo worked hard to carve out something new. Overall, this was a roaring success, but not every change and addition was a home run.
With the hopefully soon to be renamed Breath of the Wild 2 on its way and the recent release of its jaw-dropping trailer, now is the perfect time to create a wish list of the things that fans hope can become a part of the game, and the features they'd like to see dropped.
There is no guarantee that any of these will come true, but it's safe to say that Nintendo is aware of some of the audience's complaints, so we can only hope that they've kept them in mind.
10. Do: New Paragliders
When it comes to picking out some of the best additions that debuted in Breath of the Wild, you'd be completely remiss to ignore the paraglider.
Traversing the land of Hyrule has always been a pleasure, but gliding about the skies and looking down on the luscious land like a soaring eagle was a true delight.
So why not expand on that?
Breath of the Wild inherently focused on items, rewards and discoveries, which made it so peculiar that players were never rewarded with a new paraglider. Sticking with the same gliding tool throughout the whole title was fine, but it felt like an outlier in a game that was so full of cycling inventories.
This is something that the sequel should work on, and an easy way to do so would be to insert a new selection of paragliders. One significant difference this would introduce is simple cosmetics, as switching the design and colours up could make for some nice visual changes. However, more importantly, players could be treated to stat changes, like higher speeds or stronger dexterity.
Even Immortals Fenyx Rising introduced different sets of wings, so if a deliberate Breath of the Wild clone can do it, Nintendo can too.
