Was there any doubt that this wouldn't feature in an iconic Call Of Duty moments list in some capacity? This level is the embodiment of genius. First and foremost is the way it sets up the story arc for Modern Warfare 2 and 3 so adequately through shock tactics. The second reason is that it generated so much hype and publicity for the game, leading to it becoming the second biggest selling game of all time during 2009. For those uninitiated with the level in question the player takes control of an undercover CIA operative taking part in the massacre of 'hundreds' of civilians at a Russian airport. Admittedly at no point in the level do you have to actually kill anyone (your allies will take care of it) so really you only have to walk to the end. Alternatively before the mission begins you are offered the option to skip the level completely (don't worry achievement hunters, this mission doesn't count towards any shiny medals you desire). There's no such thing as bad publicity and this moment proves it.
