Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare - 10 Killer Features It Must Have
2. A More Intelligent Campaign
Call of Duty has always been branded a 'blockbuster' series; it features enough explosions and special effects to rival Michael Bay's biggest releases. No matter how over-the-top a video game is though, we still expect it to be intelligent; explosive set pieces can only entertain us so much. Black Ops 2 is a great example of an intelligent, well-made Call of Duty campaign. The aforementioned multiple endings depended on your actions throughout the story and it created a villain that we can actually empathise with at certain points. It also explores interesting concepts like indoctrination and martyrdom, pushing the game beyond a simple military story. We demand more from our Call of Duty campaigns and Sledgehammer looks like a developer we can trust to deliver; after all, the studio is led by Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey, the two men responsible for the first Dead Space. Successfully creating an ambitious and exciting story for Advanced Warfare could help establish Sledgehammer as one of the industry greats, just like Modern Warfare did for Infinity Ward all those years ago. Likelihood: Likely. Not only do Sledgehammer have story-writing credentials but the teaser reveals that Academy Award winner Kevin Spacey has been signed up to play a prominent role in the game; that's hopefully an indication of ambition from Sledgehammer Studios.
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
