Call Of Duty: Ghosts Review - Same Old Set-Pieces

Verdict

It€™s time to account for everything I have discussed up until now and weigh it all against each other. And if you have been following along you are probably aware that it€™s a pretty mixed bag with some disappointments you can€™t ignore. Admittedly, the campaign has its exciting moments that mimic Hollywood blockbuster action- which is what we have come to enjoy and accept from the franchise by now- but it€™s not without pacing issues and a truly terrible story that ends in insultingly stupid fashion. I have come to the conclusion that the competitive multiplayer is a horribly designed mess full of map issues. You can€™t ignore the fact that the leaderboards are already hacked seven ways from Sunday too, effectively killing a drive to play seriously for many players. The only redeeming factor is blasting away aliens with friends in Extinction mode. We essentially have one great mode, a mediocre one, and an abysmal one. That abysmal multiplayer is the key selling point however which drastically hurts the game€™s quality. If you€™re interested in destroying aliens or a 5 hour rollercoaster ride of a campaign I recommend trying it out. Those itching for more multiplayer sweetness should be very wary of what they€™re getting into. Call Of Duty Ghosts Box Call Of Duty: Ghosts is available on all current and next generation consoles.
