After stumbling a little bit with the Wii and then falling off a cliff entirely with the Wii U, following the release of the Switch, Nintendo have done their best to reaffirm their support of third-party games. Consequently, players have seen some pretty big titles hit the console over the past year, with intense first-person shooters like Doom running surprisingly well on the machine.

While a lot of these have been re-releases of old games though, going into 2018 Nintendo are looking to have copies of the biggest names hit their console at the same time as they drop for Microsoft and Sony's. The latest rumour is that they've even bagged Treyarch's next COD for the Switch, which is being ported over by a separate studio.

This is surprisingly big news, as the last instalment in the franchise to make its way to a Nintendo system was Ghosts all the way back in 2013. COD is bigger than ever, and it's only right that players across all platforms get to enjoy whatever Treyarch has in store for 2018.
