Call of Duty Black Ops 2: 10 Reasons It Will Be Game Of The Year

10. It Will Fix The Modern Warfare 3 Problems

Thankfully for those of us disappointed by Modern Warfare 3, Black Ops 2 offers an opportunity for Treyarch to fix some of the biggest problems of Infinity Ward€™s last addition to the franchise, and that alone will ensure that the game can be considered one of the best of the year - if they pull it off. The biggest problem Treyarch need to atone for is Infinity Ward's errors in balancing gameplay and story - MW3 might have been a triumph of slick presentation, but it was so over-balanced in the favour of story-telling that the gameplay experience suffered as a result. That meant the game was only disposably entertaining, and the solo campaign felt more like an opportunity to show off thei technical achievements, rather than to make a truly engaging gameplay experience and the most frustrating evidence of that imbalance came when all-too-frequently, the player was forced to take a back seat to the clearly more important characters as they drove story on. There can't be much more of a more degrading an experience for an FPS gamer then taking a back seat, and being lead by the hand from one fire-fight to another - I know it wasn't an open-world game, but there has to be some balance. Hopefully, Black Ops 2 will fix that problem, and all signs are good- especially in the new adoption of a cause and consequence system - because a second COD game to attract the same sort of criticisms would simply fuel the venomous trolling of those more likely to write offensive words about the game than actually pick up a controller and play it. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be released on 13th November. What do you think COD fans? Will Black Ops 2 be your game of the year? Share your thoughts below.
