Call of Duty Black Ops 2: 10 Reasons It Will Be Game Of The Year

2. The Multiplayer

Let's be honest, even taking the strongest criticisms levelled at Modern Warfare 3's solo campaign, the multiplayer element of the game remained hugely popular, to the extent that millions of game hours have now been logged, and continue to be even with Black Ops 2 on the very close horizon. That is because for a certain element of the gaming community, Call of Duty title lives and dies on its multiplayer modes, and millions more gaming hours will be logged in the next COD title long after the solo campaign has lost its appeal. Treyarch are promising new arenas, as well as a new Pick Ten system and the introduction of the brand new Hard Point game mode, which sees players trying to capture and defend positions. There's also the small matter that matches can now be played with multiple teams - 3 v 3, or 4 v 4 - meaning matches are far more competitive than ever before. We can reasonable predict that Black Ops 2 will return COD to the top of the online play chart, even with the might Minecraft continuing to enthrall gamers.
