Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 - 10 Past Game-Breaking Issues That Must Be Fixed
4. Poor Weapon Balance
You’d think after more than a decade of COD games Activision would have a balanced formula for guns in the franchise, but as of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare that’s still not the case. Advanced Warfare featured the ASM1, a sub-machine gun featuring high damage, an excellent fire-rate and more than controllable recoil allowing it to dominate many other guns in the game.
The original Black Ops had the FAMAS, which sported average damage with an extremely high rate of fire and almost no recoil. Other highly overpowered guns include Modern Warfare 2‘s ACR, Modern Warfare 3‘s Type 95 and MP7, and Ghosts SC2010.
Solution: More care should be put into the weapon balance of these games. It’s not hard to tell from the numbers coded to each gun in the game what will and won’t be effective. Guns with laser accuracy should be less powerful or have some drawback. The developers could also put more effort into giving the guns that are obviously weaker more unique benefits like larger mag sizes, or easier handling.
