Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 - 10 Past Game-Breaking Issues That Must Be Fixed
3. Lag, Latency, & Connection Issues
Many Call of Duty games have been known for being laggy and having poor connections. This leads to strange phenomena like bullets that chase you around corners, and people who literally appear out of thin air. Modern Warfare 3 had especially noticeable latency issues that caused some gamers to lose gunfights when they shot at their target, which was in all actuality an afterimage. Older games suffer more and more as time goes on, since the servers are usually switched and downgraded after the titles are no longer the newest one on shelves.
Advanced Warfare suffered from serious connection issues too, largely exaggerated by its fast-paced movement system. Boost jumping and dodging in certain conditions will make you literally disappear for a moment, which is obviously unfair. The games matchmaking system seems to limit the amount of players you encounter rather harshly as well, more often putting you in games with poor connections.
Solution: Activision needs to seriously invest in better server equipment. Additionally, if players were allowed to rent and host private servers most of the connection issues would be alleviated, especially on older titles.
