Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 - 10 Past Game-Breaking Issues That Must Be Fixed
2. Ridiculously Overpowered Explosives
Explosives are not only cool, but it’s unrealistic to imagine real soldiers who bar themselves from using “overpowered” equipment. In the end of the day however, this is a video game that has to have fair and logical game mechanics to be fun to play. Modern Warfare 2‘s gameplay was severely hurt by the excessive amount of powerful explosives and grenade launchers in that game. This was exaggerated by the One Man Army perk that allowed players to have an infinite supply of grenades for their undermount grenade launchers.
Black Ops 2 came close to a perfect implementation of fair explosives, but fell short with the C4s. In this game, C4 explosives could be thrown and detonated so quickly it felt almost like you were getting hit by one of Ryu’s Hadoukens from Street Fighter. Advanced Warfare meanwhile has some of the most overpowered explosives we’ve seen since Modern Warfare 2.
Solution: Developers need to be wary of any perks that could be exploited for extra launcher ammo. Explosives should be engineered for tactical usage, not for spamming and escaping gun fights.
