Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 - 10 Reasons The Series Should Return To World War 2
2. Back To Basics Gunplay
As with the clean break, going back to World War 2 Call of Duty has the chance to strip away the baggage that's dragged the series down for the past few years. There's been so many features added to the game, from scorestreaks to new perks to a multitude of different movement abilities, that the core shooting that made the series in the first place has kind of gotten lost in a sea of gimmicks. Even worse, a lot of these additions don't really mesh with each other any more. Once a franchise staple, scorestreaks and killstreaks feel like an afterthought, overpowered, and uninspired. Since Advanced Warfare made them optional with its pick 13 system, the whole mechanic feels a little unbalanced, which completely throws off any excitement when it comes to putting time and effort into unlocking them. And that's just one example of the many features that've been lost to the wayside in recent years. By going back to its roots, the very nature of a barebones WW2 setting would allow the developers to finely tune and forefront the moment to moment gunplay that made both the franchise's multiplayer and single player so infectious in the first place.
