Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 - 10 Reasons The Series Should Return To World War 2
5. Either Way, The Black Ops Formula Fits Perfectly
Even if Activsion and Treyarch don't want to kick-start a brand new franchise amongst the three that're already running or revive an old dormant one in World at War, the current Black Ops theme of espionage and top secret missions would be a perfect fit for a World War 2 setting. Because think about it; the chance to infiltrate enemy bases, go covertly undercover across enemy lines or take part in anarchistic guerrilla warfare on the battlefield of World War 2 has simply never been done before. The deep story and character richness that could come from off the books historical missions could prove to be a perfect fit for the themes of the entire Black Ops series as a whole, and the setting would allow the developers to go down either the wacky revisionist history or the gritty psychological warfare routes previously mentioned in the article. With Black Ops already having an entry set during the Cold War, the future, and even back and forth between the two in the same game, there's no reason think that the concept wouldn't translate brilliantly to a World War 2 setting.
