3. The Female Characters Are An Awesome, Long Overdue Addition

BO3 is the first game in the franchise to feature a playable female protagonist for its campaign, and thankfully, this transpires through to the multiplayer suite also. Of the nine Specialists, three female characters have been revealed so far in Outrider, Battery (pictured above) and Seraph, and they're a terrific (if long overdue) addition to the series. While it would be easy for these characters to seem like perfunctory additions done simply for the sake of tokenism and PR, they're all excellent characters in their own right and in the case of Outrider and Battery in particular, are distinctly more interesting and effective than most of the male characters. If Activision were ever worried that adding women into the mix might alienate emotionally insecure teenage boys, who the hell wouldn't want to play as the gun-toting bada** above?
